Description
This course is taught in partnership with Informa and is ideal for those currently in or seeking to enter a security related career. The threat from terrorism has become a permanent feature of the security landscape and this course is designed to understand the growth of the phenomena, its political context and most importantly, to provide a thorough examination of the latest counter-terrorism measures. These are outlined from both a military and community engagement perspective and the course draws on contemporary examples and learning from academic , strategic and operational perspectives. You'll be taught by qualified academics with longstanding experience working to combat terrorism in their careers as practitioners. This is a part-time distance learning course.

Requirements:
You will be required to have a relevant second class honours degree or equivalent overseas qualification. Alternatively a graduate level professional qualification and suitable work experience (such as policing, security or military work) may be accepted. Where English is a second language you will be required to demonstrate a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or a TOEFL score of 575.
Assessment Methods:
You'll be assessed with coursework, online examinations, research assignments and essays. You'll be expected to participate in the virtual learning environment with tutors and fellow students.

Modules include: Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism, Intelligence Analysis, Contemporary Issues in Crime, Safety and Security, Military and Security Responses to Terrorism, Community Policing Responses to Violent Extremism Leading to Terrorism, Understanding Terrorist Finance, and a Counter-Terrorism Studies Dissertation.
