The CompTIA A+ certification is the industry standard for computer support technicians. The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in areas such as installation, preventative maintenance, networking, security and troubleshooting. CompTIA A+ certified technicians also have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients. The A+ certification is one of the most popular in the computer industry.
There are varying opinions on the value of the A+ certification, which is managed by independent technical certification vendor CompTIA. Some feel that it’s too easy to get and doesn’t require any real experience, making it of questionable value. Others believe it’s a good way to get that first job in IT.
