Unit 2 – Health and safety for the cleaning and support services industry
This unit introduces you to health and safety legislation, how to work in a safe manner and how to control risks. When you have completed this unit you should know and understand:
- The health and safety legislation which applies to the cleaning and support services industry
- How to work in a safe manner
- How to control risks in the workplace
Unit 3 – Working with customers and others in the cleaning and support services industry
This unit introduces you to the ways in which you should communicate politely and effectively with customers and others when performing cleaning tasks. You will also cover responding appropriately when disagreements arise. When you have completed this unit you should know and understand:
- How to communicate effectively with customers
- How to meet customers’ needs
- How to contribute to effective team working
Unit 4 – Cleaning of interiors and washrooms
This unit introduces you to maintaining levels of cleanliness in environments where there is a high risk of infection to the employee and the environment. When you have completed this unit you should know and understand:
- How to prepare for the cleaning of interiors and washrooms
- How to carry out the cleaning of interiors and washrooms
- How to check cleaning and resources, dispose of waste and return equipment
