Overview
This Level 3 course offers you to learn advanced specialist techniques in kiln formed glass including advanced casting techniques, improving on existing skills and developing theses further using sound research, sketchbook work and design skills working to live briefs e. g V&A competition, The Biennale 2015 and the WAES summer exhibition.
Description
You will gain knowledge and understanding of advanced skills of kiln formed glass such as model, mould making, lost wax casting , core casting and cold working techniques with recap and extending demonstration throughout.You will also learn how to write your own kiln firings and programming. You will translate and communicate your live project research, ideas and designs into successful glass objects with guidance from the tutor, evaluating your work continuously. V&A competiton, Biennale 2015, WAES summer exhibition.
Requirements
Learners with Level 2 or equivalent experience in glass. Acceptance on the course with application form and short interview. Evidence of research and drawing skills required, images of practical work.? You need to be self motivated and prepared to research and design in your own time. Working with sketchbooks and technical note books is essential.
