Recruitment heritage
Reed began as a company in May 1960, when Alec Reed opened his first branch in Hounslow, West London. From these early beginnings, Reed has grown organically into a business with over 300 offices and over 3,000 employees.
Reed now offers HR and recruitment services to businesses of all sizes, from SMEs to large blue chip organisations. And with over 46 years of recruitment experience, Reed will continue to grow and offer solutions tailored to the needs of its clients.
Specialist recruitment
Reed was the first recruitment company to offer specialist recruitment services, beginning with the creation of Reed Accountancy in the early 1960s.
Since then, Reed has continued to tailor its recruitment services, with 24 individual business specialisms offering recruitment solutions in distinct industry sectors.
Market-leading website
reed.co.uk, Reed’s online 'shop front', was born in February 1995 and was the first recruitment site offered by a recruitment agency in the UK. Since then, the site has developed into the UK’s leading recruitment site, offering more than twice the number of jobs of any other UK job site.
As such, reed.co.uk has become a proven mechanism of attracting quality jobseekers, in every niche, to Reed’s suite of services. Over 2.5 million candidates are now registered on reed.co.uk, more than any other UK job site.
Candidate screening and assessments
Reed’s qualified consultants rigorously screen and assess all candidates before submitting their details to a client. All candidates undergo a pre-interview with a Reed consultant, as well as in many cases being tested for the role they are applying for.
In addition, all candidates will be referenced prior to the commencement of a temporary assignment with a client, with special reference checking being offered for temporary workers placed in banks and financial organisations.
Online products and services
Reed offers clients a portfolio of innovative technical solutions to ensure that the recruitment process is as effective and cost efficient as possible. As standard, we offer all clients our online timesheet authorisation and submission service, Ontime ®.
