Set up Saved searches and e-mail

Let reed.co.uk do the work for you by setting up saved searches. To receive notifications of suitable vacancies from reed.co.uk you should do the following:

  • Fill in your criteria for the type of role you are looking for in either the Quick Search or Advanced Search facilities and then click ‘Search’;
  • This will generate a list of suitable vacancies matching your criteria;
  • Click on the 'Email me jobs like these' button at the top of the list;
  • If you are signed in to your jobseeking account you can enter a name for your saved search, decide how often you would like to receive job alerts, and select if you would like to receive them to your Email account;
  • The alerts will be sent to the email address supplied when you registered with reed.co.uk. If you wish to learn how to update these details see our page on changing details.

Once saved you should start receiving alerts when suitable jobs are added to reed.co.uk.

Common issues:

“I haven't received any emailed jobs even though I signed up for them”

If you signed up for email job alerts but haven't received any there could be a few reasons:

  • Check your search criteria aren't too specific. The job alerts will only be for jobs that match your criteria. Try broadening your search by removing or changing a field such as salary, or widening the location variable to include counties rather than towns.
  • Check your email provider security settings or spam filters. You may need to turn spam filters to low to enable reed.co.uk e-mails to be received. Alternatively try adding no-reply@reed.co.uk to your address book or safe list.
  • Check you have enabled yourself to receive e-mail alerts from reed.co.uk in your registration details. This can be done in the "contact preferences" section of reed.co.uk. Ensure these are all set to "yes".

“I'm getting e-mails that don’t match my job requirements”

If you feel that the job notifications you are receiving are not matching your current requirements, you should have another look at your saved searches and change them to be more relevant.

“I can't add any more saved searches”

Candidates are limited to a maximum of 3 saved searches. If you already have 3 saved searches you will need to delete or overwrite one of them in order to set up a new one.

Edit Saved search

  • Visit your saved search page either by following the 'Email Job Alerts' link on your signed in hompage or in the 'Jobs & Applications' section of the 'My reed.co.uk' page of your account.
  • You may like to widen the criteria that you have selected so that you are notified of a larger selection of vacancies that are of interest to you.
  • Alternatively, if some of the notifications you have been receiving were outside your specific requirements, we would suggest that you narrow your search criteria.
  • This should help to eliminate notifications of any jobs that do not match your recruitment needs.
