For an Executive PA, no two days are ever the same…

The main role of an Executive Personal Assistant (PA) is to provide support and guidance to a senior executive or company director.  Essentially, you will help to run their life.

You will manage every aspect of your manager’s day, from scheduling meetings and booking appointments, through to answering their phone and organising their correspondence. Other duties of an Executive PA will include the following:

  • Taking minutes
  • Arranging transportation, and other necessary logistics
  • Running professional and personal errands
  • Liaising with clients
  • Managing expenses

This position relies heavily on mindset, and is great if you consider yourself to be a people person. You will also need to be able to prioritise and work well under pressure, constantly adapting to the current needs of your employer.

Some other key skills are:

  • Great organisational skills – scheduling, planning etc
  • A strong attention to detail
  • The ability to prioritise and use your own initiative
  • Excellent time management
  • The ability to multi-task

What's it like to be an Executive PA?

The best part of my job is that every day is different. You are constantly being challenged, and need to roll with the punches. It can be very demanding, and you will need to be calm under pressure, but there are perks. I’ve travelled to loads of different places, been to expensive restaurants and even got free tickets to festivals, which you definitely don’t get with most jobs
