Overview:The Estates Department of Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Security Manager to work across its hospital and properties. The role involves dealing with incidents and issues related to security, crime prevention, violence and aggression in the healthcare environment. The ideal candidate should have experience in security management, DATIX analysis and investigations, as well as a high level of education, mental resilience, communication skills, problem-solving skills and integrity. The candidate should also be familiar with IT systems, data protection, mental health act and criminal law, and have a clean driving licence. Key Responsibilities: · Providing efficient and effective administration or other service autonomously and contributing to service development, delivery and business planning. · Developing, planning and managing ad hoc Security related projects and monitoring, interpreting and applying national and RBH NHS Trust-based policies. · Managing and addressing any issues relating to a breach in RBH NHS Security Trust policies and analysing, investigating and resolving complex queries relating to the service. · Producing regular detailed informational reports and analysis for the management team and keeping up to date with relevant legislation, guidance, strategies and best practice. · Maintaining a good understanding of new technologies and techniques relevant to the service and advising on a range of criminal and administrative sanctions against offenders. · Working with the Police, CPS and NHS Legal Protection Unit to progress criminal cases and ensuring incidents of physical assault on staff are reported to NHS SMS. · Dealing sensitively and empathetically with staff who present with complex and emotive issues. · Designing and delivering training on violence, personal safety and security for NHS staff and providing conflict resolution skills through presentations and de-briefs. · Assessing and improving security practices and measures across Trust premises and analysing and reporting on security incidents and risks. · Supporting the development and implementation of security policies and procedures and reviewing and recommending operational improvements for the service area. Person Specification: · Security Management qualification & SIA Licensed. · Previous experience withing a large organisation and ideally within healthcare. · Experience in Conflict Management and de-escalation. · Advanced personal skills including organisation and attention to detail, as well as a cool head under pressure. · Solid IT skills, including full knowledge of MS Office Suites and an ability to learn new programs.
