What do Personal Advisers do?
Personal Advisers work with Members (our name for participants) on our employment programmes, such as Action Teams and Employment Zones. The programmes help the long-term unemployed and those with barriers to work progress towards sustainable employment.
As a Personal Adviser you will:
- Work with Members on a one-to-one basis to find them employment
- Find innovative new ways to overcome the barriers to work faced by your Members
- Actively market the programmes to members of the community who may benefit from our services
- Take part in group workshops with Members to help increase their skills
- Develop strong relationships with Account Managers, local partners, employment and support agencies to find a range of employment solutions for your Members
- Provide post-employment support to Members to help them to adapt successfully to the work environment
To be successful you will have to:
- Have the drive and determination to overcome obstacles that you and your Members will face
- Develop action plans with Members to help them find fulfilling employment
- Work with the other Advisers in your team to find creative solutions to new challenges
- Combine empathy for your Members’ situations with a solutions-focused approach to helping them find employment
- Effectively manage your caseload of Members
