What do Reed graduate trainees do?

With the strength of our UK reputation as a recruitment agency, you may be surprised to hear that there’s more to Reed than recruitment.

Although many of our graduate trainees do concentrate on recruitment careers, we operate in a myriad of different areas which you can experience through working in a number of placements during the three-year training contract. We offer graduate opportunities in consultancy, marketing, recruitment outsourcing, training, charity management, project management, human resources, systems development, accountancy, sales and client relationship management.

The Graduate Training Scheme is designed to help you learn about every aspect of the company and therefore gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of roles available in the 6 Reed companies.

Wherever you work in Reed early responsibility will characterise your career with us and you will start to contribute towards our success from your very first day. Your graduate roles are guaranteed to stretch your abilities but you won’t be on your own; we assign a senior manager as a mentor to each of our graduates and regular meetings are encouraged. You will also have a ‘buddy’, often a third year graduate, to talk to on a more informal basis.

Training

We offer a training programme that is second to none. All graduates are given the opportunity to choose from a wide range of professional qualifications to study towards; for example, an MA from Durham University or accredited membership of CIPD or CIMA.

In addition to sponsorship for professional qualifications, all trainees complete the Leadership, Innovation, Enterprise and Success programme developed by our founder, Alec Reed.

Throughout your time with Reed, our internal training programmes, delivered by Reed Training, will also help you to develop the skills you will need to become a manager of the future, from sales and negotiation to time management and presentation delivery.
